The Mestia to Ushguli road is the classic Upper Svaneti route — around 2 hours each way, now mostly paved with concrete, with one rough section past Kala village. It leads to one of Europe's highest permanently inhabited villages, under Mount Shkhara.

What time does the shared transfer leave, and what does it cost?+
The shared transfer departs Mestia at 10:00. The base shared seat is 70 GEL for Ushguli only; add the Shkhara viewpoint for 90 GEL per seat.
Can you drop us for an overnight stay?+
Yes. Many people spend a night in Ushguli. We can drop you and arrange the return on your chosen day.
